A publicação de um livro de resumos de teses de mestrado, elaboradas na Faculdade de Economia da Universidade do Algarve, é um propósito da Direcção da ADIFE, agora cumprido.
Não foi possível obter todos os resumos de teses, cerca de 90, apesar dos pedidos formais endereçados aos autores. Não obstante, esta edição conta com 41 resumos, aos quais se juntam mais quatro de docentes da Faculdade, que concluíram os seus mestrados noutras instituições.
Pretende-se, pela relevância desta iniciativa, despertar o interesse para a leitura das versões completas das dissertações, existentes nas bibliotecas da Universidade do Algarve, e contribuir para a divulgação da investigação realizada na Faculdade, ao nível dos cursos de mestrado. According to the literature, the definition of financial literacy focuses on the knowledge and ability to communicate about financial concepts, ability to manage personal finances, ability to make appropriate financial decisions and confidence in planning effectively future financial needs. O tempo até conclusão dos cursos superiores assume uma particular importância, pois tem impacto na projeção da Universidade para o exterior.
Neste trabalho, com base nos dados recolhidos pelos Serviços Académicos da Universidade de Évora, pretende-se estudar o tempo até conclusão de uma dissertação de Mestrado. Recorrendo à análise de sobrevivência conclui-se que a idade, o ano de ingresso, a fase de candidatura, a duração da parte curricular e o estatuto de trabalhador estudante são fatores significativos na duração de uma dissertação de Mestrado.
Como os trâmites administrativos também podem influenciar significativamente o tempo de duração do Mestrado, mostramos como a implementação de cartas de controlo pode ajudar a identificar causas que fazem aumentar ou diminuir esse tempo.
We briefly present the Masters in Publishing Studies of the University of Aveiro and present some problematic situations in the publication of bilingual texts and critical editions.
This short note deals with the presentation and the evaluation of a Master
Course in African Studies offered since 1992 by the Higher Institute for Labour
and Business Studies in Lisbon. This Course is now in its 13th edition and has
trained a total of 315 students, 104 of them having finished their studies with the
submission and approval of a Master thesis. The main points of the Course presentation
deal with the origin and nationality of the students, with the disciplines
in which they have obtained their university degrees and with the institutions
where they have studied. Two critical points are also mentioned: the success rate
of the Course, i.e. the percentage of students which have concluded their Master
studies with the approval of their thesis - about 43% for the first 9 editions of the

This article summarizes a research study that aimed to evaluate the blearning methodology adopted in the Master in Multimedia in Education (2007/2009 edition) from the University of Aveiro, Portugal, which was the subject of a master dissertation (Silva, 2009). This research relied on two research tools for data gathering: discussion records from the forums and blogs of the central subjects, whose content analysis identified potential aspects of b-learning methodology requiring special attention; questionnaires to collect more precise data on the students and teachers´ perceptions on a wide range of relevant indicators.
