In vertebrates, alternative splicing regulates gene expression in a cell- and developmental stage-specific manner, producing functional diversity of the corresponding proteins. Although its importance has been underscored, control mechanisms of alternative splicing are poorly understood. The N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor NR1 subunit (NMDAR1, GRIN1) contains three cassette exons (NI, CI and CII), and which are specifically expressed in mammalian brain. In this study, a minigene splicing reporter system of the CI cassette exon was utilized to study its splicing silencing mechanism in mammalian cell lines. Dans cet article, je considère une série de fonctionnements de groupes nominaux sans nom qui échappent au modèle de l'anaphore nominale introduit pour ces groupes nominaux dans Corblin (1985, 1995). J'essaie de montrer que les groupes nominaux en question (le premier, ce dernier, celui-ci, ...) relèvent d'un fonctionnement particulier appelé ici "référence mentionnelle". Le principe de ce fonctionnement est que ces groupes nominaux privés de tête lexicale spécifiée in situ désignent, sans l'assigner à un type déterminé, le référent d'une mention proche du contexte, référent identifié en vertu des propriétés de sa mention en contexte.
Ab-initio electronic structure theory (MCSCF+CI) has been used to determine the more important features of the potential energy surface for the simple isomerization reaction HCSi --> HSiC. Our preliminary results indicate that H-Si-C has a bent structure while H-C-Si is linear. More, the H-Si-C ground state is 2A' and it is 2Pi for H-C-Si. Potential barriers for isomerization are calculated. Geometries, energies and dipole moments are given for ground, excited states and transition states.

In the present study, experimental investigations were carried out on the effects of biodiesel types and biodiesel fraction on the emission characteristics of a compression ignition (CI) engine. The experimental work was conducted on a four-cylinder, four -stroke, direct injection (DI) and turbocharged diesel engine by using biodiesel of waste oil, rapeseed oil and corn oil and normal diesel. Results of MRD CI calculations with varying numbers of reference configurations for the water molecule employing a double-zeta basis set are compared with the corresponding full CI results of Harrison and Handy as well as with those of other methods. For the three geometries considered a highly uniform percentage (99.8±0.1%) of the available correlation energy in this AO basis is obtained by solving secular equations in the 13–15000 range, i.e. only 5% of the full CI space. Extrapolation of the full CI energy through the use of various correction formulae is found to be unreliable for large bond distances, although such an approach is successful at the equilibrium geometry.
An efficient two step procedure has been developed using CI GC/MS for analyzing amphetamines and related compounds. The first step allows the analysis of underivatized amphetamines with the necessary sensitivity and specificity to give spectral identification, including differentiation between methamphetamine and phentermine. The second step involves preparing a chiral derivative of the extract to identify d and 1-isomeric composition.
