steady enrollment of ¯rst year undergraduates, a steady out°ow of excellent students into
graduate programs, and top-level academic research by its members, and last but not
least, a comradely atmosphere...

STRATEGISCH PLAN 2004-2008
In het verslagjaar is het Strategisch Plan 2004 – 2008 opgesteld.
Het plan bevat naast de hoofdlijnen voor de strategie een te-
rugblik op de resultaten van het Strategisch Plan 1999-2005 en
implementatievoorstellen voor het nieuwe beleid.
Om de EUR internationaal sterk op de kaart te zetten wordt de
komende jaren ingezet op drie strategische thema’s:
– concentratie van de onderwijs- en onderzoeksactiviteiten op
de drie domeinen;
– onderwijs van hoge kwaliteit;
– speerpunten in toponderzoek.
OMGEVING
De universiteit bevindt zich in een turbulente omgeving. Ener-
zijds vraagt de bewaking van belangrijke universitaire waarden
aandacht, anderzijds is het zaak actief en flexibel in te spelen
op externe ontwikkelingen.
