The following study focuses on Clinical Supervision of initial Training in Nursing and its object of investigation is the nursing students' perception on the nurses' ability to supervise in Clinical Training. With this study we intend to improve the selection process of becoming a supervisor by identifying witch specific abilities are required and the necessary training that is needed to help develop these same abilities. This way, we seek to improve the Quality of Supervision in Clinical Training in Nursing. The conceptual picture begins by explaining some of the basic concepts inherent to the problematic of this study such as, representation, professional skills and supervision in clinical training. Then you have to establish a connection between several important subjects such as, the relation between theory and training, abilities t...
Psychotherapist's variables and their impact on psychotherapy research is an increasing area of interest for psychotherapy research. The current study aims at evaluating the impact of therapist's capacity to regulate emotions on his style or work practice patterns, on his perceptions of difficulties in practice and on the therapeutic alliance. The sample was composed by thirty nine therapists and thirty one patients. The following instruments were used: EDRS - Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale, DPCCQ Development of Psychotherapists Common Core Questionnaire (Orlinsky & Ronnestad, 1999) and the Working Alliance Inventory Short Form (WAI-S) for the therapists, and the WAI-S scale for the patients. Results showed that emotion regulation had a significant impact on the work practice patterns of the therapist, as well as on his p...
We used the agar dilution method to evaluate the antibacterial effect of Terminalia macroptera leaf (Tml) extract against nine reference and clinical Neisseria gonorrhoeae strains, including penicillin- and tetracycline-resistant and -susceptible strains. Tml possesses anti-N. gonorrhoeae activity against all of the strains and the minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) were between 100 and 200 mug ml(-1). We then used a liquid-liquid partition method to divide the Tml extract into five fractions and determined the anti-N. gonorrhoeae activity of each of the fractions. All of the fractions showed antibacterial activity. The most active one was identified as the diethyl ether fraction and had MIC values of between 25 and 50 mug ml(-1) against all of the strains. Novel mixed ligand oxotechnetium complexes of the type [(TcO)-Tc-99m(SSS)(SR)], in which the SR monodentate ligand is derived from dipeptides gly-gly, phe-gly and ala-gly, have been synthesized. These complexes, which have a molecular weight above 300, a lipophilic moiety, [TcO(SSS)](+), and an ionizable group separated from the lipophilic moiety by a spacer, have been obtained in 70-95% radiochemical yield. These compounds were prepared using Tc-99m-tartrate as the precursor and Sn2+ as the reducing agent. The identity of the [(TcO)-Tc-99m(SSS)(SR)] complexes has been established by HPLC comparison with the analogous oxorhenium complexes. The nature of the monodentate co-ligand strongly affects the stability of the Tc-99m-complexes and their biodistribution. Complex 3b is the most stable in vitro presenting the highest blood clearance...
