Caracteriza-se e descreve-se a tecnologia de erosão por laser, evidenciando algumas das suas potencialidades e possíveis áreas de aplicação. Faz-se referência à máquina DML 40 SI do INETI, utilizada na experimentação, com indicação das características do laser nela instalado. Segue-se a apresentação de um conjunto de resultados experimentais em que se analisa a influência da espessura das camadas, da frequência e da velocidade de varrimento do laser, na qualidade da superfície. Concluiu-se que os melhores resultados são obtidos para uma espessura de camada de 2 m, frequência de 30 KHz e velocidade de 300 mm/s, se bem que a taxa de remoção de material nestas condições seja baixa.
In this work, H2 production by a strain of Enterobacter aerogenes using as substrate pure glycerol and glycerol-containing biodiesel wastes was compared. The effect of physico-chemical parameters such as temperature, initial substrate and biomass concentrations on the bio-hydrogen production efficiency was investigated. The influence of the simultaneous removal of gases produced was also evaluated The results obtained showed that a decrease of the process temperature of 37 to 30 ºC leads to both, an increase of the bio-hydrogen production rate and a decrease of the equilibrium time of the process. Like most real-world problems, the design of multipurpose batch facilities involves multiple objectives. However the existing literature on the subject has been mainly centred on mono-criterion objectives (Barbosa-Povoa, 2007). Therefore, multi-objective optimisation is a modelling approach that requires further study when applied to such facilities. The best way to deal with various goals simultaneously is to define the efficient frontier which offers the optimal solutions found by multi-objective optimization. This paper presents the life cycle inventory (LCI) of hydrogen production by Clostridium butyricum fermentation of Scenedesmus obliquus hydrolysate. The main purpose of this work was to evaluate the potential of H2 production from microalgal biomass and the respective energy consumption and CO2 emissions in the bioconversion process considering the microalga production, acid hydrolysis of S. obliquus biomass, preparation of the inoculum and culture media, and fermentation. O presente estudo pretende contribuir para o Planeamento e Reordenamento do Território, numa das unidades de ordenamento do anticlinal de Estremoz-Borba-Vila Viçosa, o núcleo de Pardais - UNOR 5, envolvendo a indústria extractiva dos mármores. Caracterizaram-se o conjunto de parâmetros geológicos e ambientais que melhor caracterizam o espaço a estudar. Toda a informação obtida foi cruzada num SIG, de modo a definir áreas favoráveis ou desfavoráveis à exploração, tendo em atenção os condicionalismos encontrados.
Em Portugal têm sido utilizados, com alguma frequência, modelos de escoamento hídrico subterrâneo em regime permanente, para descrever quantitativamente modelos conceptuais de funcionamento de formações aquíferas. Também em relação ao Aquífero Moura-Ficalho foi anteriormente apresentado um modelo deste tipo (ERHSA e outras referências de artigos).
