A 4 x 6 cm ulcerative mass in the antrum
was found to consist of papillary adenocarcinoma in the
surrounding wall and the small round cell neoplasm at
its base. Immunohistochemical staining revealed that
elements of the papillary adenocarcinoma were positive
for carcinoembryonic antigen, epithelial membrane
antigen, keratin, endocrine granule constituent, and
CA19-9, while components of the small cell carcinoma
were weakly positive only for neuron-specific enolase.
In one portion of the small cell carcinoma, particularly
large cells with pleomorphic nuclei which were intensely
positive for desmin were detected. Electron microscopic
examination revealed dense-cored granules and
intercellular junctions in the small neoplastic cells and
bundles of intermediate filaments in the desmin-positive

ABSTRACT
The aim of this research was to identify the knowledge of people with Diabetes Mellitus in relation to
foot care, correlating the study time with the number of concordants responses, as well as, the time of
diagnosis with the presence of chronic complications.
It is analytical, exploratory and cross-sectional study, carried out with about 41 individuals with diabetes
who attended an outpatient clinic of a city in Triangulo Mineiro.
The results showed a deficit in knowledge about the feet care of this population, since the average
score was 10.0 in the total of 15 questions. Education was not correlated with the level of knowledge of
the practice. There was an association between the time of diagnosis and the presence of
complications, where 70.0% of the sample had diabetes with complications for a period ≥ 10 years....
Los objetivos de este estudio son:
-La validación de este modelo experimental para el estudio de la glomeruloesclerosis renal inducida por dieta hiperlipémica.
-La valoración del proceso de regresión espontánea de la lesión renal inducida por una dieta hiperlipémica tras la retirada de esta dieta.
-El estudio del efecto de atorvastatina en procesos de progresión y regresión de la lesión renal inducida por una dieta hiperlipémica.
Para todo ello, empleamos técnicas bioquímicas, histológicas en microscopía de luz y electrónica, inmunocitoquímicas y cuantificación mediante análisis de imagen, empleando un modelo experimental en pollos tratados con dieta aterogénica y regresión y progresión espontánea y con intervención con atorvastatina.
